The way many Congolese woman are obsessed with bleaching and weaves is very disappointing

Unfortunately a lot of Women of color are addicted to having weaves and bleaching to look more white. White propaganda has been having an effect on a long time. Congolese women are no exception. It is incredibly sad indeed.

    Happy Birthday Heritier
    Bon Anniversaire Heritier
    Furaha Kuzaliwa Heritier
    Mbotama Elamu Heritier

BTW the song D DE D, there is a singer with Heritier who sounds like Ferre Gola.

you mean at the end of the song? if so then its no other than heritier&#;s older brother pongo pontiack

So his older brother has a voice similar to Ferre Gola. I guess Heritier knows the value of La Padre&#;s voice.

  • Empire Bakuba- POTO MALILI: KINSHASA MOTO MOTO

I love this great record. It is the album from my second favorite band Empire Bakuba. It is the album Poto Malili: Kinshasa Moto Moto. I mean basically the album is somewhat a dedication to Europe and Kinshasa as many Congolese were more into going to Europe than other areas including United States (USA). This is a real Empire Bakuba album. Because unlike many Empire Bakuba works, it does not have too much of Pepe Kalle. The real stars, I would the real stars are Dilu Dilumona, Djodjo Ikomo, and Blaise Mava. They appeared on all of the six songs. They were the people that shined in those songs. We have songs together like Mama Mapasa, Yo Naponi, Pense A Moi, Ngai Ngaye, Mbiya, and Diaminate.

We have some great moments from some of these excellent songs. One song that is excellent is Dilu Dilumona's song Ngai Naye which is a remake record of his record Pesa Ngai Loboko. But on this version, no Pepe Kalle on this song. But the original, Pepe Kalle does appear on the record. Dilu Dilumona regardless he shines and he is able to make some great lead vocals. The interesing record to me was the song Mbiya which is another Dilu Dilumona record. This song, Dilu shines too and he is able to show his skill as a ordinary singer. But then Pepe Kalle steps in and put his own blue print into this classic song.

But the main person for this album is the great entertainer Djouna Mumbafu. He has a strong prescene in each song that he animates. He also puts his strong and crazy voice into these classic songs. Djouna Mumbafu was the King of this work and he made some great moments. Part of this great work is because of Djouna Mumbafu.

  • Tshala Muana: The raunchy DR Congo diva who captivated a continent

But the image she projected when performing at concerts was very different to what she really stood for.

Muana used her music to advocate for the rights of women and children and to give a voice to the poor.

In his book, Rumba on the River, American author Gary Stewart quotes her as saying her songs were about everyday life.

"I don't sing about love very often, no. In my songs in Tshiluba there are often proverbs, things that are a little different compared to the other singers," she said.

In Cicatrice D'Amour (Love Scar), she draws out every last emotion to bemoan domestic violence and to make an abusive man reform. Here, the language matters less. It is the mellow beats and mournful vocals that touch every vein in her audience.

Her stand on social justice heightened when she entered politics in , earned Muana the nickname Mamu Nationale (Mother of the Nation).

But she paid a price for her political stance. She was arrested in November over her last song, Ingratitude, that was considered to be an attack on President Félix Tshisekedi because it castigates a man who bites the hand that feeds him. Muana was known to support Mr Tshisekedi's predecessor Joseph Kabila.

She was released a day later following a public uproar.

It was on 13 March , when Congo was under Belgian colonial rule, that Amadeus Muidikay and his wife Alphonsine Bambiwa Tumba were blessed with a baby girl in Lubumbashi. They named her Elisabeth Muidikay.

After Mr Muidikay was killed in the Katanga War six years later, Ms Tumba took their children to Kananga, the capital of Kasai, in search of a better life.

At 18, Elisabeth Muidikay, or Tshala as we came to know her, was a broken person, a victim of an arranged marriage and carrying the sorrow of losing her infant daughter.

She moved to Kinshasa, believing she could put her experience of singing in a church choir to something worthwhile - or
