The Slender Man (also known as Slenderman) is a supernatural creature with nebulously defined characteristics and abilities. Slender Man was first mentioned in Something Awful Forum's "Create Paranormal Images". He generally appears (in modern times) as a tall humanoid creature in a black or grey suit, red or black tie, and white shirt. His face is totally white, completely devoid of facial features. He has no hair, and generally has normal-looking bare hands, albeit with fingers longer and bonier than a typical human. Slender Man has been depicted in imagery and literature at anywhere between 6 and 15 feet tall, depending on the situation, though in video he is usually only around 6-7 feet tall. Because of his inexact nature, and differences between accounts, no one has yet determined what, exactly, the Slender Man is. Currently, there are two leading theories as to what the Slender Man may be:the Tulpa Effect and Quantum Theory.
The internet popularity of Slender Man has spawned a massive number of interconnected ARGs, collectively known as the Slender Man Mythos.

The Slender Man (also spelled Slenderman) is a fictionalsupernaturalcharacter that originated as a creepypastaInternet meme created by Something Awful forum user Eric Knudsen (also known as "Victor Surge") in 2009. He is depicted as a thin, unnaturally tall humanoid with a featureless white head and face, wearing a black suit.
Stories of the Slender Man commonly feature his stalking, abducting, or traumatizing people, particularly children. The Slender Man has become a pop culture icon, although he is not confined to a single narrative but appears in many disparate works of fiction, typically composed online. Fiction relating to the Slender Man encompasses many media, including literature, art and video series such as Marble Hornets (2009–2014), wherein he is known as The Operator. The character has appeared in the video game Slender: The Eight Pages (2012) and its successor Slender: The Arrival (2013), as well as inspiring the Enderman in Minecraft. He has also appeared in a 2015 film adaptation of Marble Hornets, where he was portrayed by Doug Jones, and an eponymous 2018 film, where he was portrayed by Javier Botet.
Beginning in 2014, a moral panic occurred over the Slender Man after readers of his fiction were connected to several violent acts, particularly a near-fatal stabbing of a 12-year-old girl in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The stabbing inspired the documentary Beware the Slenderman, which was released in 2016.

Because the Slender Man's fictional "mythology" has evolved without an official "canon" for reference, his appearance, motives, ha 2012 video game 2012 video game Slender: The Eight Pages, originally titled Slender, is a short first-personsurvival horror game based on the Slender Man, a creepypasta (online horror story). It was developed by independent developer Mark J. Hadley using the Unity game engine and was released in June 2012 by his one-man studio Parsec Productions. The defenseless player must collect eight pages scattered around a dark forest while avoiding the Slender Man, who pursues them throughout the game. The Eight Pages was largely praised by critics for its effective horror and atmosphere despite its crude graphics, although some considered the gameplay repetitive and lacking replay value. The game became popular through Let's Plays and inspired many fangames based on Slender Man. Parsec Productions and Blue Isle Studios released a sequel called Slender: The Arrival the following year. Slender: The Eight Pages is a short survival horror game played from a first-person perspective. It takes place in a dense, dark forest at night. The objective is to collect eight pages scattered throughout the forest. The gameplay and graphics are very simple. The player can walk at a slow pace or run, but the latter impairs their vision and they can run out of stamina. They are equipped only with a flashlight with a limited battery; there are no weapons or inventory in the game. Throughout the game, the player must avoid being captured by Slender Man, a tall, faceless man who stalks and hunts them down. Players are alerted to Slender Man's presence by audio cues and visual distortions. He can appear at any time and does not move when in the player's line of sight. Looking at him for too long causes a game over, and the only way not to lose is to run away from him and hide. However, as they collect more pages, they e You start at what we'll call the bottom of the map, or the 6 o'clock position. Move forward to the middle of the map, where there is a building and some tanks. You will pass by a silo on the right and a scary tree on your left. Ignore them for now. Starting here allows you to take your time with the craziest part first. There are four rooms to check, and only one page. Check the rooms that are easiest to exit first, this allows you for quick escape if they are there. The page can be tacked onto the wall, or sitting on a chair in the far corner of one of the rooms. It is easy to get scared and skip checking the chair. Don't skip the chair unless you already have the note. Head out to the tanks when you are done. The tanks are directly outside the bathroom. These are the next scariest obstacles, but Slender man is still slow as molasses at 1 page. The page can either be on the end of the tankers lined up parallel to each other, or on the side of the perpendicular tanks. Head to the dirt path at the 3 o'clock position next. You want to stick to the dirt paths especially with the latest update, which allows ol' Slendy to appear IN FRONT of you, but behind something like a tree, making every forest a maze of NOPE.Turning around is NOT suggested, and the game can be beaten without ever actually seeing the man. Approach the wall from the right, do a strafing circle around it, collect the page if necessary, and leave, never turning back. Bang a right out of there and the six pillars should be next, on your left. Approach from the outside of the left pillars. You should still be able to see if the page is there on the inside of the pillars while still being able to make a wide enough turn at the end to go around the other set of pillars.
