Backstage with Who Decides War at NYFW

KCE - How do you implement sustainability into your designs?

EB - A lot of our denim pieces are reworked or use vintage denim. There is a trench coat in this collection, that instead of buying new yardage, we just used leftover scraps.

TD - Our finale piece is an amazing transitional dress made out of a recycled parachute. Arturo Castañeda and the team worked for over twelve hours on the gown for today’s show, completing it at 7:00 am this morning.

KCE - What are you hoping people take away from this show today and the collection as a whole?

EB - I just want people to feel a sense of calm. We always have been trying to push the envelope and make a statement. I feel like now we are finally settled in and showing, you know, that this is us.

TD - I feel like with our past couple collections we were just doing whatever to make it work, but this time we feel confident and very good about it. In the past, we didn’t even have the time to think about those things. We hope that that translates through the clothing and that it is also something people feel good in.

    Cailin Russo for Uniform Object

Farrugia was inspired by the Victorian era during the creation of the Carriage necklaces and many other pieces by making them reversible. During this era, women would cover jewelry with casings to hide and protect their diamonds.

Throughout PORTAL, you’ll see Ruby, Columbian Emerald, Blue Sapphire, and Canary Diamond modeled by musician and model Cailin Russo. UNIFORM OBJECT has so far been worn by Bella Hadid, Megan Thee Stallion, Marta Pozzan, Chloe Bailey, and Latto. After this collection launches, we expect to see this jewelry on many more notable figures.

PORTAL is available now along with previous collections at uniformobject.com.

The Return of UGG x Telfar

The UGG x Telfar Shopper bag included in the drop is a much more plush take on the past year’s most Instagrammable purse. It originally debuted in December 2020, which spurred a continuation of the line, this time around with the addition of an UGG x Telfar Logo hoodie, bucket hat, fleece boots made from UGGplush™ upcycled wool, t-shirts, and even underwear.

With this second drop, you can indulge in comfort and wear it too. The latest UGG x Telfar collection is available on telfar.net starting October 14, and later, on October 18, on UGG.com.

    ANNABOLINA SS22

With a techno-meets-nu-metal runway soundtrack curated by Downtown it-girl Sausha, the show was a cutting-edge collaboration between friends, all with authentic POVs that stand out amidst a chronically-online herd of fashion followers. The show marked a triumph for the independent brand: with no outside investors and zero ties to greater fashion entities, it was truly a labor of love — an ode to glamour, Hollywood, and celebrity culture.

The brand recently received international attention by being featured in a cover story for The Face(UK): "Hardcore glamour revolution: how dressing up returned to fashion," and for good reason. Annabolina's unbridled devotion to her distinct aes
